Cycle Planning
Andrew Douglas prepared the Bicycle Brisbane Plan in the early 1990s. This document and the commitment of key staff within Brisbane City Council and the Department of Main Roads substantially enhanced the perception of cycling as a serious transport mode. Following this, Andrew prepared the Pine Rivers Bikeway Plan and Network, and was involved in ten year updates to both plans.
Andrew also undertook the Queensland Regional Cycle Network Review and the South East Queensland Regional Cycle Network Plan for Queensland Transport. He also produced Bikeway Safety Audit Guidelines for the Department of Main Roads and Brisbane City Council. In addition, Andrew suggested the inclusion of cyclist "end-of-trip" facilities into the Brisbane Town Plan and a Council facility beneath King George Square; a facility that was established as part of the Inner Northern Busway.
The team at Cambray Consulting are well placed to assist with active transport projects, given our extensive experience with bicycle network planning.
